“Nothing Lasts Forever” by Ian McCulloch

I’ve written in the past about my appreciation for Echo & The Bunnymen and their singer-songwriter Ian McCulloch. It always amazes and saddens me what talent doesn’t translate well across The Atlantic Ocean. In Europe the band are huge and widely appreciated and have been for decades. Unfortunately we rarely get to see them on this side of the pond. I would match their catalogue of albums including Ian’s solo work up against any of his contemporaries over the past 30 years. The voice is distinctive, the lyrics are thoughtful, the music is well crafted and played, and the band stays true to its art. Personally, I think they just get better with age and experience.  Nothing lasts forever but talent like this tends to stick around a very long time.  Enjoy and have a nice weekend!
